Happy Winter, Everyone!

One time we had an idea to fill all of our window panes with hand-cut snowflakes - all 200 of them.

It started out pretty well...

We only got this far:

Let the Winter Solstice commence!

Keep going to learn to make these snowflakes...

Instructions for the perfect hand-cut snowflake:

Start by folding the 8x11 sheet of paper up to the edge

Cut off the excess paper strip so it creates a square

You should have a triangle from the folded square

Next, fold the triangle in half again

Fold one of the triangle's corners into the middle so it is parallel with the long side of the triangle

Fold the opposite side over the side you just folded

Cut off the ears at the top

This is the creative part

Cut away with whatever design you'd like!

When you're satisfied...

unravel...

and...   voila! Snowflake!
